We are looking for volunteers to help with the following jobs at various times:
October 29th- Day of Heart Walk
SET UP: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Help in finalizing the event set-up and décor by hanging banners on sponsor tents, organizing tables, hanging balloons on tents, and setting up the walk route.
EVENT: 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.
Work to welcome walkers to this year’s event by volunteering to work the welcome tent or various educational stations throughout the event, helping to answer any questions and directing event participants, and cheering on walkers along the course! Volunteers are so needed and appreciated on the day of the event, due to the amount of participants expected to attend.
We are also looking for some lovely volunteers to participate in our Kids’ Zone by providing a face painting activity and playing with the kids! Additionally, we will need two volunteers to dress up as our Heart Man and Heart Woman.
BREAKDOWN: 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
This is clean-up time at the Heart Walk! Help to take down banners, pick up trail marker signs, fold up tables and chairs, and pick up any miscellaneous trash. Support us by making yourself available to fulfill any tasks that need to be done!
Please let me know if you or a group would be able to volunteer for this event and at what time. I, David Magat, can be reached at (804) 965- 6567 or t-david.magat@heart.org. The American Heart Association will be providing plenty of coffee, water, and food for all of our volunteers!
Please note that any volunteers under the age of 18 must be supervised by a parent or guardian. Volunteers are asked to work a minimum shift of two hours, and will be provided with a complimentary t-shirt to wear if working the day of the event.
Thank You!
Thank you so much for your support of our mission of making Charlottesville a healthier place!
