Mary & Scruffy
We are literally saving lives at Neighborhood Pets Outreach/Resource Center! Meet Mary and her beloved dog Scruffy. Mary was unable to afford a low cost spay/neuter clinic, and also doesn't have transportation. Thanks to our grant from Kenneth Scott Charitable Trust and partnership with PetFix Northeast Ohio - Mary was able to get her dog Scruffy spayed for FREE! We also helped with transportation to and from her appointment!

Mission Statement

Recognizing the many benefits of the human animal bond, Neighborhood Pets supports people with financial needs by helping them keep their pets in their homes. We do this by providing access to affordable pet care, resources, information and other supportive services. Our welcoming environment is designed to foster trust and create long lasting relationships as we build community.

Description

Neighborhood Pets is a community-based non-profit 501(c)3 organization that cares about people and the animals they love. Neighborhood Pets provides low cost wellness care, a free spay/neuter program, a pet food bank, veterinary care assistance, low cost pet supplies, counseling and other resources to the people we serve. Lack of access to affordable pet care resources is a social justice issue. We believe all pet owners, regardless of income level, should have access to affordable resources in order to care for and keep their pet(s).

At Neighborhood Pets, the focus is on people and building a community. The organization has received considerable national attention for its innovative and relationship-based approach that values the person as much as the pets. Clients are treated with respect, kindness and without judgement. We seek to earn and keep the trust of those we are serve. Our accessible Slavic Village location speaks to our commitment to build and be of our community.
