Mary & Scruffy
We are literally saving lives at Neighborhood Pets Outreach/Resource Center! Meet Mary and her beloved dog Scruffy. Mary was unable to afford a low cost spay/neuter clinic, and also doesn't have transportation. Thanks to our grant from Kenneth Scott Charitable Trust and partnership with PetFix Northeast Ohio - Mary was able to get her dog Scruffy spayed for FREE! We also helped with transportation to and from her appointment!

Complete paperwork, explain services and pricing, hold dogs/cats, check out/collect payment for services. Experience working at a vet clinic is a plus. Experience working/volunteering at a shelter or outreach event is a plus. Held 2-4 days per month (generally Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays - days rotate). Volunteers are needed for 1 hour in the morning (7:30-8:30am) and 1-2 hours in the afternoon (2:30-5:00pm). Sometimes, volunteers might be asked to pick-up or drop-off a pet at a Client's home who does not have transportation, but we would ask the volunteer in advance if we needed assistance with transport in case they were not able to help with this task. Surgeries are done off-site. This opportunity is for check-in and check-out of pets/clients and transport (as arranged beforehand).
