ALearn Silicon Valley Education Foundation is seeking someone to help recruit volunteers for our annual Fund the Future (FTF) fundraising dinner. This role is crucial to the success of the event and helps recruit volunteers specifically for the fundraising event. The FTF Volunteer Recruiter will receive a list of day-of-event tasks and shifts from the Event Planner, post the volunteer openings to volunteer sites, respond to inquires from potential volunteers, and then match them to specific volunteer jobs at the dinner. The FTF Volunteer Recruiter is also a member of the FTF Planning Committee.

Responsibilities:

• Proactively look for volunteers in traditional and non-traditional ways.
• Post to volunteer sites (i.e., Volunteer Match, Benevity, etc. and respond to inquiries from potential volunteers.
• Participate in the FTF Planning Committee (meets every three weeks on Thursday from 10-11:30 am).

Time Commitment:

2-3 hours per week

July thru October 2018

Requirements:

• Must be experienced and comfortable using Google Spreadsheets and Excel.
• The fundraising is in late October 2018 in Silicon Valley, CA. We request that the FTF Volunteer Recruiter attend the event from early afternoon through end of event (approximately) 9:30 pm.

ALearn Silicon Valley Education Foundation

ALearn Silicon Valley Education Foundation is a non-profit that helps students from low-income backgrounds achieve math proficiency and college readiness. We serve over 5,000 students each summer in the neediest schools in the Bay Area.

Our summer programs supplement the school year for low-income students who might otherwise encounter "summer learning loss" not experienced by their higher income peers who are more readily able to attend summer camps. Our after-school programs supplement the school day and give struggling students the one-on-one support from a teacher and aid.
