The Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic brings out over 10,000 people to ride 200 miles in just two days, making it the largest two day bike event in the Northwest.
Volunteers play a vital role in helping this event run smoothly. The start line is an exciting environment.
The goal is for volunteers to have fun, keep the start line running smoothly and stay organized.
Packet Pickup -
Are you a personable, patient volunteer who possesses a great welcoming-attitude and a big smile? Then this is the job for you! Involves handing out rider packets and answer general question about the ride.
Cashier - Sell the parking tickets and timing chips. Previous experience working with cash, credit cards, and checks is required.
Information Desk - Do you enjoy working with people, possess computer skills and a big smile? Then this is the job for you! Involves looking up rider bib numbers and answering general questions about the ride. Will also keep track of lost and found items. Computer and Microsoft Excel experience required.
Parking - Involves maintaining traffic order, safety and flow for the hundreds of cars coming into the E-1 parking lot on the morning of the ride. Volunteers will direct riders to long term parking, the drop off area and start line tent.
Baggage Truck Loaders - Involves assisting riders with the loading luggage on to the baggage trucks.
Volunteer at Large - Help with last minute needs, run errands, fill in and lend a hand as necessary.
Dress Code. Volunteers are representatives of CBC and are responsible for presenting a positive image to constituents and the community. We will have a 2017 STP Volunteer t-shirt available for you to wear. This event takes place outside, so please dress in appropriate seasonal attire for the weather. (Gloves, hats, raincoat, etc.) Sturdy, reliable shoes required.
