Partner with Eva's Workforce Development Program, whose goals are to empower, mentor and prepare clients with the knowledge, courage and tools necessary to successfully find a job. Work with Eva's clients so they can learn how to complete a job application, prepare a resume/reference page/thank you letter and do basic internet job searches. Train them on interviewing skills by working with volunteers and participating in bimonthly mock job fairs that focus on practicing interviewing.

Clients who attend the Workforce Development program are in their first weeks of Orientation (4 weeks in total) at the Halfway House Addiction Treatment Program at Eva’s Village. They are adult men and women who vary in age, education and work skills. They are referred to Eva’s by various county Drug Court Systems, detox or other treatment facilities, or simply come on their own to get help. Although many of the clients have been in prison, none are violent offenders, including sexual abuse and/or crimes against persons or children.

Mission Statement

Eva’s Village is a nonprofit, comprehensive social service organization with a mission to provide care and support for people struggling with homelessness, hunger, poverty and addiction.

Our organization was founded in 1982 as a simple soup kitchen to offer homeless neighbors the kindness of a meal shared with dignity. Eva's has progressed to providing help and hope to more than 5,000 people annually through our integrated anti-poverty programs.

To address the complex needs of the population we serve, Eva’s provides a recovery-oriented community of supportive services that starts by addressing the basic human need for food and shelter. Once our clients are sheltered and food secure, we then work to address the root causes of their poverty and identify their best path forward toward stability. To that end, Eva’s provides residential substance use disorder treatment for men, women, parents with children, and opioid-addicted pregnant women; outpatient treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, access to meetings and sober living at our Recovery Community Center; peer-to-peer support in hospital emergency rooms with our Opioid Overdose Recovery Program; childcare/education programs for children living in our village; medical and dental care in our Health Clinic; and long-term pathways out of poverty with employment coaching in our Workforce Development Program and career training in The Culinary School at Eva’s Village.

Above all, the dignity and needs of the individual are at the center of everything we do
