Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Ascension at Home St. Vincent’s Hospice. Our volunteers are some of the most kind and compassionate people in Alabama! If you have a heart for helping others when help is most needed, then you are looking in the right place.
Our volunteers work closely with the clinical and administrative staff to supplement the care we provide and strengthen our impact in the communities we serve. We will consider your talents, strengths and interests when matching you with the type of service you wish to provide.

Mission Statement
St. Vincent’s Home Health and Hospice is rooted in the loving Ministry of Jesus as Healer. We commit ourselves to serving all persons, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Our Catholic Health ministry is dedicated to spiritually-centered, holistic care which sustains and improves the health of individuals and communities. We are advocates for a compassionate and just society through our actions and our words.
Description
St. Vincent’s Home Health and Hospice serves patients and their families where they live, in their home. Many of our patients come to us for support as a result of a referral from their physician. We help our patients live more fully!
-Home Health patients receive temporary supportive services to help them recover from an injury, surgery, or chronic medical condition.
-Patients who elect to receive the Hospice benefit, have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and receive supportive, comfort care to help manage the symptoms of their disease. Family members and care partners also receive emotional, spiritual and bereavement support.
-Both types of home care are covered by many insurances, Medicaid, and Medicare.
Our Vision: We envision a strong, vibrant health ministry in the United States which will lead to the transformation of healthcare.
Our Values: Service to the poor: Generosity of spirit, especially for persons most in need; Reverence: Respect and compassion for the dignity and diversity of life; Integrity: Inspiring trust through personal leadership; Wisdom: Integrating excellence and stewardship; Creativity: Courageous innovation; Dedication: Affirming the hope and joy of our ministry
