The purpose of Assignment:
Assists Harvey County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Staff in maintaining a clean and organized Clothing Clothes and Household items storage area.
Provide general facility repairs, including painting and drywall.
Replace light bulbs and perform simple electrical repairs.
Perform basic carpentry repairs.
May perform minor plumbing repairs and replace washers and hardware.
May assist with window washing.
Perform misc. duties as assigned.
1-2 hours per month as needed
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Prefer previous experience in construction.
Must have basic knowledge of construction materials, methods, and practices.
Must have the willingness to perform basic construction and repair duties.
Must be able to interact well with staff and participants.
Ability to follow safety standard or instruction, verbally and in writing.
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation.
An ability to maintain confidentiality.
An ability to work without direct supervision and complete task in an efficient manner.
Training & Supervision:
Attends general volunteer orientation
Completes safehouse orientation which includes training on the location of supplies and facility procedures.
Supervision conducted by Residential Manager or designated staff
Special Licenses, Diplomas, Certifications or Requirements:
Successful completion of a criminal record check
