Parent Trust for Washington Children creates lasting change and hope for the future by promoting safe, healthy families and communities. (Mission Statement)

Parenting is hard work even in the best of times. We equip parents and families with effective, real-world tools to confidently raise their children to be safe, healthy and resilient. From conception to college, our continuum of research-based and outcome-measured programs and servivces provide support to 15,000 family members every year.

The women and men of Parent Trust's Board of Directors lend their passion, skills, expertise, and community connections to help expand and scale our impact. Theh board is a mission-driver, volunteer body that provides strategic leadership, secures funding, sets goals and policies, and ensures that Parent Trust operates legally, ethically and effectively. The board provides the blueprint that our Executive Directors uses in managing the agency's programs, business affairs, staff, and volunteers.

Board Tresurer Job Description:

  • Oversee the funds and records of Parent Trust, subject to the controls of the Board of Directos
  • Shall have the care and custody of all of the funds and securities of Parent Trust, subject to the control of the Board of Directors, and shall cause accounts to be kept of all receipts and disbusements, an annual budget to be prepared and approved by the Board, and an annual financial statement which shall be certified by a public accountant to be published for review by members.
  • Serve as a voting member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
  • Prepare the next Treasurer to carry out their responsibilities.
  • Serve as Chair of the Finance Committee.
  • Perform other duties as are usual for such official or as may be duly assigned by the Board of Directors.
  • The Treasurer shall make no decision, commiments, or obligations for Parent Trust withou the express authorization of the full Board of Directors.

Description

Parent Trust knows that raising children is hard work, even in the best of times. To help families succeed, we serve more than 15,000 individuals each year with a broad continuum of programs and services that serve Washington State children, youth and families from conception to college.

We are are not cookie cutter, "one size fits all" kind of organization. Our staff is expertly trained to work with families where they're at, tailoring our services to meet their individual needs.

We achieve child abuse and neglect prevention by working with the whole family. Our parent education and family support programs bring help, hope and strength to parents, caregivers, children, and teens.
