Senior Citizen Mentors Needed!
ORGANIZATION: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Isalnd
Please visit the new page to apply.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State is looking for senior citizens across Rhode Island to be part of our Site-Based Mentoring Program. Our Site Based Mentoring pairs college students and working professionals with elementary and middle school students who may be in need of additional academic support or personal encouragement in a supervised group setting at a school or community site. Mentoring is typically 1 hour per week during the school year. Program coordinators provide icebreakers, activities and run curriculum.
The aim is to make the best match possible by pairing a child sharing similar interests with the mentor's skills and experience. Volunteers have a 1-hour group training prior to being matched with a mentee.
