ORGANIZATION: East Side Neighborhood Services

East Side Neighborhood Services has been providing programming in Northeast and Southeast Minneapolis for over 100 years and is a hub in those communities for a wide range of services to children and families. East Side’s mission is to foster the healthy development and well-being of individuals and families while strengthening our diverse community.

This position will support the Youth Department at ESNS which serves over 1,000 young people annually through out-of-school time programs, a summer residential camp, youth employment and career pathways, truancy intervention and creative arts therapy. ESNS Youth Programs build on developmental assets of youth by: providing students with a safe environment where creative educational activities use their time constructively, offering students support from staff and volunteers trained to consistently reinforce their developmental needs, helping students develop knowledge, respect, and understanding of people of diverse ethnicities and ages, and helping students develop increased 21 st Century skills.

East Side Neighborhood Services has been a centerpiece of the community for over a century and is a hub for a wide range of services to children and families. Our goals are to help young children (ages 0-6) become school ready; support the ability of youth (ages 6-19) to develop the skills and social responsibility they need to succeed in school and in life; for adults to develop employment and life skills that support income and family stability, healthy relationships, and increased civic engagement; assist older adults to meet basic needs, in particular food security, and make connections that support health and well-being.
