ORGANIZATION: Sam's Point Area of Minnewaska State Park Preserve

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Join Sam’s Point Area of Minnewaska State Park Preserve in partnership with the Ellenville Public Library’s summer reading program "Build a Better World" in an invasive plant species pull on July 1, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Did you know that Ulster County is second in the nation for most invasive species?! We will meet at the trailhead to Smiley Carriage Road at Berme Road Park in Ellenville. Volunteers will learn how to identify a number of invasive plants and work on removing those species from this area of the park. Work may include bending and kneeling, but is family friendly and is recommended for anyone ages 10 and up, accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18. Pre-registration is required for this event.
