Help feed free meals to Hungry children! Volunteer with the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle's Mobile Tastiness Machine. We need volunteers to commit to a once a week evening volunteer opportunity serving free meals out of our Mobile Tastiness Machine (food truck) to children and teens experience food insecurity. Volunteer reports to Mobile Tastiness Machine driver/cook.
Duties:
- Help load the truck and ride to the site. Volunteers will NOT drive the truck.
- Help get the truck ready for service. Setup table, water station, etc.
- Plate and serve meals to children. No cooking experience needed.
- Help maintain area around the Mobile Tastiness Machine.
- Help insure safety of children while they are near the Mobile Tastiness Machine.
- Breakdown tables, water station, etc. and load supplies back into the truck.
- Help unload supplies from the truck upon return to the Food Shuttle.
- Help put away food, clean pans, clean kitchen, and clean the Mobile Tastiness Machine according to safe food handling guidelines.
Shifts: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 PM - 6:30 PM.
Requirements:
- Should be able to stand for the bulk of the shift.
- Work in hot conditions outside.
- Lift 25 pounds repeatedly during the shift.
- Follow directions, interact with the children and their paretns in a courteous and respectful manor.
- Background check
- Please sign-up for at least four shifts, for training purposes.
