ORGANIZATION: Women's Museum of California

The Women's Museum of California is looking for a volunteer to assist our Store Manager with store inventory. The ideal volunteer will be able to come in once a week, preferably Monday or Tuesday when the store and gallery are closed, for a few hours to tag new inventory and put it into our system (ShopKeep) and manage some vendor paperwork. You will also reach out to current vendors to return items that are not selling and/or request more inventory as needed.

The Museum's mission of inspiring and educating the community about the accomplishments and experiences of women is further reflected in our store as the majority of the items for sale are crafted by women artists and artisans. Assisting in the Museum store is a great way to give back to the community and support the Museum's mission.

Proficiency in the ShopKeep POS system including ShopKeep BackOffice is highly preferred but not necessary.

About Women's Museum of California

Location:

1649 El Prado, Suite 103, San Diego, CA 92101, US

Mission Statement

To educate and inspire present and future generations about the experiences and contributions of women by collecting, preserving and interpreting the evidence of that experience.

Description

The Women's Museum of California was founded in 1983 by Mary B. Maschal who recognized the gap in knowledge and lack of women role models in our accepted history and began collecting materials to teach the public. Now, a committed Board of Directors, Staff, and many volunteers and interns work on a variety of programs, events, and exhibits both at the museum and within the community of San Diego County. The WMC is one of 3 standalone Museums in the United States that focuses on the history, experiences, and contributions of women.
