Volunteer for a sanctioned family friendly 5K & 1K fun walk as 30 hot air balloons inflate the morning of September 16th at the Broken Arrow Events Park to raise money for Gatesway Foundation, a Broken Arrow based nonprofit that provides opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.
We need volunteers to hand out waters to runners, assist with cutting up fruit that will be served post-race, assist with runner sign-in/clerical duties, and help leading race warm-up.
This will be a very fun event and simple work that will make a big impact. It's a great choice for people who need just a few volunteer hours for their school or work requirements.
Gatesway's mission is to encourage independence and provide opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities that will enable them to live and work in the community and improve their quality of life.

Description
Gatesway was founded in 1963 by Helen Gates who wanted to find alternatives for her son, Ronnie, who had Down syndrome. Gatesway was established to ensure that people like Ronnie could have a special kind of training, a special kind of education, but most of all a purpose for their lives.
