PLACEMENT PURPOSE
The Chapter Logistics Coordinator provides guidance at the chapter level for coordinating, communicating with and developing of volunteers. In consultation with chapter staff, the Logistics Coordinator assists volunteers and staff in planning, implementing and evaluating chapter policies and practices for the designated group activity. The Logistics Coordinator serves as a subject matter expert and advisor to chapter and community leadership, as well as staff in their designated group activity. This position is intended for steady state (blue sky) and not during a larger disaster response. The logistics activity is responsible for the support and coordination of the following for steady state activity and routine responses: - Transportation - Facilities - Supply/Procurement - Warehousing/Inventory
OPEN TIME DAYS
- Regular participation in regional disaster leadership meetings
- Regular participation in national conference calls related to group activity, if able
- Regular planning/support activities
- Local response experience required, national experience preferred
- Two years of experience within the designated group activity
- Demonstrated leadership ability (volunteer, business, community)
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with volunteers, paid staff and diverse populations
- Ability to develop and motivate team members
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
