PARCA is putting on it's 6th Annual Devil's Slide Ride and Run on July 29, 2017. Volunteer opportunities are plentiful. As an event volunteer you get food, beverages, an event T-shirt and most important, the warm satisfaction that comes from accomplishing something of real value.

We are looking for Ride Marshals (fixed position) - Ensure the safety of the riders; flag cyclists safely across major intersections and at key turning points along routes; alert SAG to flat tires, minor mechanical problems and injuries. Marshals should bring folding chairs, reading materials and sunscreen, because there may be long lulls between riders.

Parking Coordinator organize a team to p lace signage, traffic cones; direct traffic into parking areas; ensure cars are parked correctly, in an orderly fashion. Monitor parking lots to ensure that vehicles are secure for duration of event. Greatest needs are in the morning, as participants arrive, and midday, as trail runners, arrive at Community Center for lunch.

Community Center Clean-up Crew (ongoing throughout the day) - Monitor and manage trash, debris and miscellaneous clutter at Community Center, including any outdoor areas used; make sure everything stays clean and in good order. Moderate lifting may be required.

SAG (Support & Gear) Drivers & Navigators - Ride in SAG vehicles; help cyclists with minor mechanical problems or injuries; watch for injured riders; communicate regularly with net control, ham radio operators and aid stations; transport cyclists unable to finish (and their bikes) back to the Community Center. We're looking for experienced SAG volunteers with their own vehicle, preferably with a bike rack that will accommodate at least two bikes or more. Vans and SUVs preferred, but large sedans will work.
