ORGANIZATION: SMALL BUSINESS ADVOCACY COUNCIL

  • 6 people are interested

The Small Business Advocacy Council (SBAC) is seeking motivated students and young professionals to connect with voters in local districts at various events throughout the summer!

After over a two-year stalemate, Illinois finally passed a budget. Though this was a crucial step, important non-partisan issues remain unresolved. The SBAC is pushing for structural reforms that will help address Illinois’ political gamesmanship and the state’s outstanding financial obligations including issues such as term limits on leadership, redistricting reform, and pension reform.

Term limits are imperative to ensure no one individual accumulates too much power or influence; legislators drawing the district map has allowed politicians to select their voters; and the $130 billion pension shortfall will bring Illinois further into debt unless reform takes place.

We are looking for volunteers who understand the impact of these issues and will take part in our grassroots effort to cultivate change in Illinois.

No previous campaign experience is needed, only a willingness to be a team player and ready to make a positive change in Illinois.

Volunteers must be...

- Available for at least some of these dates: July 28-30, August 5-6

- A team player able to take direction

- Ready to interact with attendees and gather contact information

- Available to travel throughout the Chicagoland area

- Enthusiastic in our mission!

Those ready to make an impact, please contact Danny Duran at dan@sbacil.org.
