Break A Difference will be mobilizing 500 volunteers from a corporate partner at the Boys & Girls Clubs in Long Island City Queens and nearby community organizations. In preparation and wrapping up the big volunteer event, we’re seeking community volunteers to assist to ensure the Boys & Girls Club and other partners get the most out of the volunteer day.
Task:
Tuesday, 7/25 (1pm - 5pm)
x5-10 volunteers
Help prepare murals to be painted on 7/27 by adding coats of primer, masking off to-be-painted areas, & preparing paint containers.
Wednesday, 7/26 (1pm - 7pm)
x30-50 volunteers
Help prepare classrooms and spaces to be painted on 7/27 by masking off to-be-painted areas, adding coats of primer, & preparing paint containers. Also help prepare other 7/27 projects by sorting & organizing volunteer supplies.
Thursday, 7/27 (8am - 6pm)
x30-40 volunteers
Join 200x K-12 Boys & Girls Club members on a field trip to a nearby museum or park while Break A Difference leads other volunteers in full renovating the club facility. Most members are K-8 and there will be Boys & Girls Clubs staff supervising & managing the field trip the whole time.
Thursday, 7/27 (2pm - 6pm)
x10-20 volunteers
Help finish and wrap-up the Boys & Girls Club renovation by painting, gardening, sorting tools, loading supplies into cargo vans, and cleaning up the facility.

Break A Difference partners with United Way, Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA’s and other local nonprofits to provide meaningful and impactful service projects.
