Help Super Stars Literacy wrap up the year and get ready for the next! We need some extra hands to organize our learning materials in preparation for the coming school year. Service activities includes organizing literacy games, packing teacher starter kits and organizing classroom supplies.
Timing is flexible in the time range listed and service work will be completed at SSL's main office in Oakland.

Description
Because 3rd grade reading ability is such a strong predictor of high school graduation rates, Super Stars Literacy partners with schools in low-income communities to provide at-risk K-2nd grade students with comprehensive literacy intervention programming, helping them build the literacy and social skills that are the foundation for future learning. The SSL program consists of 1) daily after-school literacy and social-emotional skill developmet, 2) in-school reading support coordinated with the students' school-day teachers, and 3) family engagement activities designed to help parents support their child's reading development and connect families to the school.
