Are you interested in gaining experience working directly with people with mental illness or chemical dependency? People Incorporated is looking for volunteers that are interested in regularly spending time with a client that has mental illness to help them improve their social skills and avoid isolation. Volunteers choose what activity they would like to do with the client, such as an arts and crafts project, a board game, a cooking or baking project, playing video games, health/fitness activities, or simply just talking.

We have two adult males at our Adult Foster Care housing at Heather Ridge that are in need of companionship. People Incorporated has a need for preferrably two or more males to want to come and spend time with our clients. They love reading, learning, playing cribbage, and just being engaged. Any time commitment is appreciated.

People Incorporated is a nonprofit organization that serves people with mental illness in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul metro area. Founded in 1969, we now operate more than 60 programs including children’s programs, crisis residences, programs to help the homeless, residential programs, treatment services, case management, and in-home health services.

If you would be interested in joining us, please apply on our website at http://www.peopleincorporated.org/get-involved/volunteer/ or you can also email a brief statement about your interest and a resume to volunteer@peopleincorporated.org.
