The reason I changed careers from Social Services to Rescue.

Exciting opportunity to volunteer on the board of a grass roots nonprofit organization in Los Angeles dedicated to providing temporary housing to senior dogs and dogs with special needs!

Seeking to fill board vacancies with people that have a love and passion for dogs, animals and seniors as well as fundraising experience.

The ideal person will have an innate understanding of dogs, possess an empathetic and compassionate nature for seniors and special needs, have the ability and temperament to work within a team setting.

Special Needs for my organization is defined as physical and psychological challenges, e.g. vision impairments, anxiety, etc...

About Scully's Place, Foster Homes for Dogs

Location:

817 WEST 54TH ST, LOS ANGELES, CA 90037, US

Mission Statement

We are dedicated to providing safe loving foster homes to homeless dogs of all breeds and sizes. We are committed to nurturing, training, and protecting homeless dogs with the singular goal of securing a forever home for each one. To that end we will provide services that address physical, medical, and psychological needs of each resident which will help them secure permanent homes. We will work with animal rescue organizations that rescue dogs from Los Angeles city and county animal services and or perform intervention services and support them in their quest to find them permanent homes.

Description

The purpose of the business is to provide safe, stable, loving temporary homes for homeless dogs until a forever home or other housing is available. Scully’s Place, Foster Homes for Dogs exist for the sole purpose of housing homeless dogs.

Each house will provide services that address the physical and psychological needs of each resident to help them maintain and or develop good physical and emotional health. The services offered at each house include daily walks, swimming and massage, games, and socialization activities. Each house will have ten dogs whose boarding fees will be paid for by the rescues and two dogs whose boarding fees will be discounted for the rescues that are unable to pay the full fees. Those rescues will still provide food and pay for all medical care for each dog.
