Rotary District 5190 in Northern Nevada and Norther California is hosting 24 Rotary Youth Exchange Students from July 2018 to summer of 2019. Our policy is to offer each student three host famlies during their year in the U.S. As a result, finding 72 host famlies can be a challenge.
We want to let the community know of this great opportunity to experience a new culture from 15 diffeent counties, including: Spain, Korea, Sweden, Belgium, Argentina, Brazil, Slovakia, Denmark, France, Chile, Germany, France, Italy, Thailand, and Japan.
These students will learn about the United States and understand better about our great country. Our outbound students become ambassadors to other countries as exchange students counterparts to the inbound students.
The RYE program is sanctioned and overseen by the Department of State and Rotary and District 5190 are considered one of the best exchange programs offered.
Rotary Club of Reno Centennial Sunset is hosting a girl from Brazil for the exchange year 2018-2019 and the schools zone currently available are: Damonte Ranch High School, McQueen Hit School, Reed High School and Spanish Springs High School. Generously opening your home for 3 - 4 months provides your family and friends with an expanded awareness of the girl’s Brazilian culture as well as broadening that awareness in the school and community.
