ORGANIZATION: The Human Growth Foundation

We are seeking a highly self-motivated, detail-oriented team player to add to our internship program. We are looking for someone who is eager to gain hands-on experience in the many facets of special event production, marketing, and public relations. Our interns are go-getters, think outside of the box and outside the circle. They possess an enthusiastic attitude and ready to work hard as this could lead to a full-time position.

This position is VIRTUAL - but you must be able to attend two events - Say NO Bullying Festival in Los Angeles (10/14/2018) and Walk for Kids' Growth in Los Angeles (12/01/2018).

MARKETING

  • Create a target audience list for specific events
  • Create social media campaigns to promote event for industry-related people
  • Create a response page for online registrants
  • Build a list of potential contacts for registration outreach
  • Create social media posts and graphics promoting the event (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
  • Post event to online event calendars and industry-related calendars

EVENT PRODUCTION

  • Assist event producer with event logistics, including layout/set up, event registration table set up, vendor set up, audio and visuals, shipments to hotel, attendee parking protocol, event id badges for all attendees
  • Vendor outreach for industry-related event participation (phone calls and emails)
  • Sponsor outreach for industry-related participation (phone calls and emails)
  • Track event registration
  • Send promotional emails to potential event registrants

REQUIREMENTS

  • 0-2 year background in PR, Marketing, and Event Planning preferred
  • Availability - minimum 3 days a week, 9 am- 5 pm
  • At least a 6-month commitment, with college credit offered if needed
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office & Google Drive
  • Strong knowledge, passion & understanding of the social media landscape
  • Plus if you have worked with large databases maintaining information
  • Ability to manage a variety of assignments with shifting priorities and maintain careful attention to detail
  • Very organized
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Proactive and willing to take initiative
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication skills
