ORGANIZATION: Girl Scouts of Wisconsin - Badgerland Council, Inc.

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Hang out with pre-teens and show off your coding skills! We'll be making circuit art with Chibitronics circuit stickers and drawing lines of code with markers to race Ozobot Bits around the room. If you're a member of the thriving Madison tech & start-ups community, this is the ideal place to support the next generation of entrepreneurs and engineers!

Never used these products before? Join us for a special Google Hangouts live chat prior to the event and watch Chibitronics and Ozobot Bit in action!

STEAM Camp is a week-long day camp program for middle school children, designed to introduce kids to careers and opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

Mission Statement

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Description

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
