Description:
The position applies principles of accounting and financial analysis in order to maintain the general accounting systems; reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, maintain balance sheet schedules, perform accounts payable, provide grant billing functions, develop budgets, and perform other duties as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for preparing, examining, and analyzing accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting guidelines.
Analyze and review budgets monthly; comparing budgeted costs to actual costs to provide an explanation for any material variances.
Prepares monthly financial statement reports for assigned grants and properties and presents them to management.
Assist with processing of accounts payable/accounts receivable transactions as needed to ensure that records are maintained in a current and accurate manner.
Balance and maintain general ledgers, bank reconciliations and bank deposits.
Requirement: 1 year experience in accounting and a background check required. 1 year commitment for this position.

Description
SOS is working to strengthen and deepen student’s understanding and knowledge of the world. To do this students ranging from 6th-12th grades, from different walks of life will form a core group. The group will meet with the SOS leader who will guide them through service projects, team-building and leadership exercises, cross-cultural understanding, and conflict resolution skills, and practical training on travel and safety abroad. These experiences tie in with what kids are learning in the classroom. All of this culminates with an educational trip abroad in the summer that inspires students to come home and bring more positive change to our community.
