ORGANIZATION: Oyster Mill Playhouse

  • Attend all meetings of the board of directors and the general membership.

  • Develop and implement general playhouse and production specific marketing campaigns including, but not limited to, the following methods as appropriate:

    • Print media

    • Email

    • Social Media

    • Lobby slideshows, show banners, show marquees

    • Playhouse website

    • Press releases, community calendars / local news outlets

    • Chamber of Commerce events

    • Billboards

    • Direct mail / patron letters

  • Oversee timely distribution of mass emails to patron database, including, but not limited to: targeted marketing emails to promote individual shows, fundraising emails, monthly playhouse newsletter, general playhouse announcements, volunteer solicitations, etc.

  • Act as administrator for all social media channels that are in use. Additionally, PR Officer or designee will ensure coordinated, regular and appropriate posts to social media channels and will monitor social media channels for appropriate patron posts

  • Design (with or without assistance from a graphic designer, as necessary), review, proofread and approve all marketing materials across all marketing channels listed above

  • Maintain relationships with graphic designers, printing company and other vendors as necessary to ensure timely delivery and quality of promotional materials, while also managing costs

  • Manage the timely design and printing of programs / playbills for each production. Collect actor and director biographies, headshots, scene descriptions, director message, cast and crew lists, special thanks and all other content. Ensure inclusion of playhouse policies. Proofread all content for accuracy, spelling and punctuation.

  • Provide input to annual budget committee and manage all marketing & advertising efforts within the PR budget

  • Assist with securing program advertisers, show sponsors and season sponsors

  • Solicit production reviews from local media / press outlets

  • Perform other duties at the request of the president

  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner

  • Actively promote the playhouse in a positive manner throughout the community

  • Support and adhere to all board decisions and playhouse policies

  • Serve on or chair standing committees or ad hoc committees established by the president

Officially, we are the Metropolitan Repertory Company, Inc., doing business as Oyster Mill Playhouse. Oyster Mill Playouse is a 100% volunteer driven, non-profit community theatre located in East Pennsboro township. We have operated successfully for over 40 consecutive years.

Description

Each year we present a season of eight quality productions including musicals, comedies, mysteries and dramas. Our productions are staged and performed by some of the area's most talented community players. The works of various local artists are featured in the lobby during the season.
