Our exciting new project Sustainable Food Basket needs funding from global sponsors. The ideal candidate has initiative to ask questions and the ability to work independently, though understanding the overall goals of the project is essential. In addition to project management, accounting, financial planning with ERI Directors; research of funding sources, foundations and sponsors (ERI already has a large database of potential investors); writing grant proposals; correspondence and followup .

A passion for Sustainable Development, food and Brazil is a big plus. If the candidate speaks Portuguese that’s even better, but not mandatory.

Mission Statement

Earth Rights Institute is dedicated to securing a culture of peace and justice by establishing dynamic worldwide networks of persons of goodwill and special skill, promoting policies and programs which further democratic rights to common heritage resources, and building ecological communities.

Description

Earth Rights Institute (ERI) takes an innovative approach to join education, advocacy and research in building ecologically, economically and culturally sustainable communities in some of the world’s poorest communities. Earth Rights Institute advocates a model of development that supports the re-localization of development expertise. We believe that in order to empower communities of the global south to manage and direct their own development, strategies and expert knowledge must be conceived locally. ERI is a United Nations NGO affiliate for ECOSOC, UN Habitat, UNCSD, and UN Finance and Development.
