This year the Untermyer Gardens Conservance has decided to add to the visiting experience by introducing volunteer greeters on the weekends. These greeters meet people as they enter the gardens, provide a brochure which includes a map and historical information about the property, and provide some answers to simple, standard FAQ's that visitors have. There is also a voluntary donation basket at the garden entrance. Greeters may be also asked to roam about outside the walled garden area to assist visitors in the Vista and Temple of Love area. The weekend greeter hours are from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. We will be working 3 2-hour shifts both days: 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM, 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM and 3:30 to 5:30 PM. We are scheduling on a weekly basis so you are not locking yourself in for any long-term thing. You can volunteer when you are avaialble (and of course you're welcome to volunteer for more than 1 shift a weekend if you like). Each volunteer will receive a short training course with all the information you need to know. People who visit the garden are always amazed at its beauty and I am sure all volunteers will find the interaction with visitors a most rewarding experience.
