CARE Feline TNR
Improving the lives of Feral Cats in Central Florida through TNR

CARE Feline TNR, Inc. (CARE) maintains an inventory of over 200 traps for use in the TNR process. The CARE Trap Team consists of 5-8 volunteer trap distributors and one Team Leader (who may or may not also be a trap distributor). The Trap distibutors store the traps at various locations throughout the Greater Orlando Area, and then loan these traps to community caretakers following a well-established protocol. The Trap Team Leader is responsible for managing the overall trap loan program.

Duties include:

  • Maintaining an inventory of all traps owned by CARE, including periodic audits. This inventory requires that all CARE traps are labeled with a unique inventory number, and includes the location, type and status of all traps. This inventory is kep on a spreadsheet in GoogleDocs.
  • Managing the trap distributors. This includes ensuring that all distributors are trained in proper procedures and CARE policies, as well as monitoring performance and responding to any complaints. Some recruitment of replacement volunteers may be necessary from time to time. This recruitment duty is shared with the Board of Directors.
  • Maintaining, updating and distributing all traps and trap loan materials (forms and brochures) needed by trap distributors. This may require redistribution of traps from one storage location to another depending on periodic fluctuations in demand for trap loans.
  • Performing periodic inspections of CARE trapping equipment, ensuring that all CARE equipment is functioning properly, and arranging for repair/disposal of traps as appropriate.
