Apply to be Passion Impact's AmeriCorps VISTA Member!

Passion Impact is looking for an AmeriCorps VISTA member to help us build out a local board of directors, connect that board with our current and future programs, secure funding for those programs, and create sop's for recruitment.

This will be Passion Impact's first AmeriCorps VISTA member and we are excited to bring someone on as a champion of our mission. If you feel there is a good fit for you at Passion Impact, we encourage you to apply through Campus Compact's portal below.

More description:

By the end of their tenure, the VISTA member will have created an action-oriented, local, capable board of directors that is integrated with all programs. This board will work closely with the students and community that we serve in order to empower students to build skills through service learning. These relationships are rooted in ideas surrounding school attendance and service learning to further connect education and job opportunities.

The VISTA will also ensure the programs to be sustainable in a manner that is supported by local organizations through in-kind donations, monetary donations, and grants. This will require working with foundations and writing grants as well as creating avenues for local orgs to donate and sponsor PI porgrams. Many of the students PI currently serves are empowered to continue volunteer knowing that the community recognizes their time. By creating sustainable resource backing from the community, students will feel supported while chasing their passions. PI will reinforce this as a reason why they should stay enrolled and attend classes contributing to higher attendance.

This will all be supported by the final push of structural processes for recruiting, training, and implementing volunteers and staff. Since PI’s inception, the idea of free-range directions has diminished slightly with a focus on a more guided and creative route taking it’s place. The shift has been due to the increased understanding of students need for directions in order to feel empowered to face challenges that are completely new. By having these structural processes in place, future volunteers and staff will understand and grow PI programs faster with more institutional knowledge and conviction.

Large performance milestones will be:

  • Finalize local board of directors structure

  • Recruit and onboard local board members

  • Securing all fiscal support for 2018 - 2019 fiscal year

  • Finalizing all internal structural processes

Thank you for your interest!
