Join the Dune Defenders on San Bruno Mountain's ancient dunes! Volunteers will help improve the habitat of the rare and endangered San Francisco Lessingia and other native wildflowers by removing invasive species!
Volunteers will also enjoy a colorful (wildflowers!) guided hike on the dunes to learn about their fascinating cultural and natural history, and the general history of dune environments in the Bay Area. (Interpretive booklet included). We will also get to observe the amazing pipevine swallowtail butterfly caterpillars.
Free picnic will be provided as well as an interpretive booklet for the hike!
Parking is available on Thiers St and the dirt road next to the Hilldale School. (use 250 Thiers St, Daly City for navigation)
