Companion Hospice is looking for Veterans who are interested in volunteering for our Veteran patients. In our Veteran-to-Veteran program, the patient and their family members receive such a needed service by having the extra support of not only the clinical team, but the emotional and spiritual support of a new friend--the hospice volunteer. Since veterans are part of a distinct culture with their own common language and experiences, a strong relational bond is formed between both veterans that only they can understand.
How you can help: You can help Veterans in our care by becoming a Veteran Hospice Volunteer. You will be able to provide emotional support and participate in pinning ceremonies and other recognition events for Veterans. Your presence and willingness to give back will give you the opportunity to bring a compassionate and empathic heart to our Veterans and their family members.
