A Volunteer & Exhibit Visitor
A volunteer enjoys sharing information about Heifer International with an OC Fair visitor.

Looking for something to do this summer that's different and makes a difference? We would like to invite you to help support Heifer International as a volunteer!

During the Orange County Fair, Heifer International will be working to educate the public about how communities can overcome hunger and poverty. We will be doing this at an exhibit in the Millennium Barn at the Orange County Fair from July 14 to August 30, 2017

Our exhibit includes family-friendly displays and fun activities that focus on how animals help end hunger and poverty. We will have trivia games, hand puppets, animal pins, and more!

Would you like to share your time, warmth, and knowledge as a volunteer for Heifer International? Volunteer shifts are 3 hours in duration, and admission and parking are provided by our office. This is the perfect opportunity to volunteer with another family member (13 years or older please), friend or colleague. Sign up together to take on a shift at the fair! Before or after your shift, you are welcome to stay to enjoy the fair as our guest.

We require that all new volunteers are trained by either attending a one-hour training or information session in preparation for their shift(s) at the Heifer exhibit or participating in a virtual training. There are 4 training sessions scheduled at locations throughout Orange County. Please note that we will be distributing admission tickets and parking passes at the training sessions.

About Heifer International

Location:

5500 Bolsa Avenue, Suite 245, Huntington Beach, CA 92649, US

Mission Statement

Heifer International is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty while caring for the earth.

Description

Heifer International works with communities to help our project partners become more self-reliant. We help them achieve greater economic independence through the gift of livestock and training. Each of our project partners is not only a recipient of a gift of livestock and training, but also becomes a donor when he/she "passes on the gift" of the first offspring of their animal. We also work with communities on agroecology methods to ensure their farming practices are sustainable.
