GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Volunteer Scheduler creates and maintains current the volunteer schedule for the medical clinic, dental clinic, and outreach events.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creates and maintains medical clinic volunteer schedule in coordination with volunteer availability and clinic needs. Medical clinic sessions occur twice per week.
- Schedule volunteers for dental clinic upon notification of clinic dates. Dental clinic occurs approximately once per month.
- Schedule volunteers for outreach events upon notification of event dates. Event frequency varies with more events occurring in summer than other times of year.
- Maintain frequent and regular contact with office coordinator, who handles new volunteer inquiries and registration
- In coordination with clinic and office Coordinators, schedule/assist with orientations for new volunteers.
SUPERVISION
The volunteer scheduler is directly supervised by the executive director or designate.
COMMITMENT
- Time commitment varies; generally 8-10 hours per week. Most work can be carried out off-site. Monthly orientation is conducted on-site.
- We ask that you commit to one year of service
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Internet access from home or primary off-site workspace
- Proficient with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Forms or experience with other word processing and spreadsheet applications and willingness to learn Google products
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience with volunteer or staff scheduling

Description
Established in 1983, Neighborhood Clinic provides free urgent medical care to those who cannot afford or access healthcare. The clinic is open on Monday and Thursday evenings, seeing patients on a walk-in basis. All medical providers and other care team members are volunteers. Neighborhood Clinic is a United Way agency, and is supported completely by grants and private donations.
