Simply Jane Art Able volunteers assist with weekend birthday parties, after school art club, special events and summer camps. This is a great opportunity to learn about a non profit art center and gain experience working with children, seniors, and people with disabilities.
Summer Camps: Volunteers assist our lead instructor with summer camps and supervise the lunch/play break. Camps run from June - August. Choose one or more weeks to volunteer.
Special Events: Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of special painting events. We have a variety of community partners that bring groups, large and small, to the studio. These groups range from toddler time, senior programming and people with disabilities.
Birthday Parties: Volunteers assist instructors in leading children's birthday parties on the weekends. Volunteers are needed for 2 - 4 hours.

Our mission is to provide rewarding art programming for people of all ages and abilities. We provide quality visual art programs and employment for individuals with cognitive, developmental, and physical disabilities as well as those with mental health challenges, in a space adapted to their needs.
Description
Simply ArtAble is a nonprofit arts education center and drop-in paint studio. We offer adapted paint classes and special events for people with disabilities in our fully accessible studio and we go offsite to hospitals and care facilities to bring art into the lives of people with limited mobility. We are also open to the public, offering kids' and adult painting classes and parties, summer camps, and other events to support the work of our nonprofit mission.
The studio was founded in 2007 by professional muralist, Jane Elias, and operated as Simply Jane Studio until 2012 when it became a 501(c)(3) non-profit and was renamed Simply ArtAble. On becoming a nonprofit in 2012, ramps, automatic door openers, accessible restrooms, and adjustable art tables were installed in the studio, making it fully ADA compliant.
Jane and her team of creative, dedicated teaching artists are experienced in working with students of all ages and abilities and meet each at their own level. At Simply ArtAble everyone is a fabulous artist!
