ORGANIZATION: Tidewater Arts Outreach

  • 2 people are interested

This opportunity is for Microsoft experts who have used Office365 and SharePoint extensively.

Our organization is working on transferring files from our hardware to the cloud that is Office 365 to our SharePoint site. We would love to use the TASKS function of Sharepoint as a tool project management among staff and volunteers. We need an expert to help us get started and to create some fields needed for our areas of focus within our organization.

We would love to have some help here and there when we encounter smaller IT issues within the office. We have 4 staff members and 8 workstations.

For the Office365 project we are working currently, we would love some training from an expert on how to best use this platform and SharePoint, so we can focus our efforts on other aspects of operation, outside of Information technology.

Schedule can be flexible and will be a mix of working remotely and in the office in Ghent Norfolk. Please submit your availability, Resume, and why you want to volunteer with Tidewater Arts Outreach. Please view our website before applying and submit the Volunteer Application under "Get Involved" to: Volunteers@tidewaterartsoutreach.org

THANK YOU, we look forward to receiving your application documents.

Mission Statement

The mission of Tidewater Arts Outreach: Enhancing wellness in people with special needs or circustances through the healing power of the arts. Our vision: We envision a vibrant community where differences are embraced and opportunities for creative self-expression are available to all who seek them. Compassion, connection, creativity.

Description

The arts cultivate a 'healing environment,’ helping patients address the mental and emotional aspects of recovery.

Here are some of the outcomes of the power of music and the arts in healthcare and congregate care settings:

  • Enriches the soul, stimulates the mind and promotes wellness; Reduces anxiety and consciousness of pain
  • Creates 'community,’ helping people feel connected, heard and appreciated
  • Helps people to be seen as individuals, not as patients, numbers, job descriptions or diseases
  • Has the potential to reduce staff turn-over & attract quality staff
  • Helps staff connect culturally with patients, families and other staff members from diverse backgrounds
  • Helps people leave an artistic legacy and create a lasting expression.

The need for arts in long-term care is great.
Tidewater Arts Outreach has a waiting list of long-term and crisis care locations that want more music and arts in their facilities. There’s also a waiting list of artists wanting to contribute, attesting to not only the great need in our community for more programs, but illustrating the desire of community members to be involved meaningfully, creatively and positively with people who are isolated and who have special needs.
