Our team of clinical volunteers and staff help to save and improve lives every day. We believe in everyone deserves access to healthcare, regardless of income, race, religious beliefs, sexuality, nationality or country of origin, and seek to provide everyone high-quality compassionate care. Many of our patients come to us without many options; the clinic seeks to give them hope as well as healing.

As we are met with requests for services that exceed our capacity by at least 5:1, we are actively seeking to expand our volunteer medical and dental team!

Volunteers needed include:

  • Physicians
  • Dentists
  • Nurse Practitioners
  • Physician Assistants
  • Nurses (LPN, RN, BSN)
  • Medical Assistants
  • Pharmacists
  • Paramedics
  • Phlebotomists

Volunteers choose their schedule based on their schedule and clinic availability, and schedules can be set month to month if needed. Currently clinics are scheduled mornings only, but afternoon/weekend/evening hours may be available and can be considered. (We do ask that if you decide to join us, you are able to commit to a minimum of six months to a year of service due to the training and certification costs involved.) Appointment blocks are typically 3 to 4 hours.

We have helpful office staff and volunteers, an on-site lab, and EPIC electronic medical records system. Clinical volunteers are covered by our malpractice policy and CEU credit for volunteer time may be available.

Lake County Free Clinic (LCFC) exists to address the unmet health care needs of our community through the provision of quality medical and dental care.

Established in 1971, LCFC continues to see an increase in the number of patients unable to access or afford healthcare. We are a free clinic and do not bill insurance or recieve any government funds. A donation is requested at time of service, however noone is refused treatment due to their inability to do so. By taking care of chronic and primary care needs in our outpatient setting, we also serve the community by ensuring that local emergency rooms can serve only those with critical care needs.
