ORGANIZATION: Children in Placement-CT, Inc.

  • 11 people are interested

Children in Placement-CT, Inc./CASA of CT is a non-profit organization that trains local volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in foster care. Our volunteers receive rigorous training to become Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Guardian ad Litems (GALs) and then act as the eyes and ears of the court while evaluating the needs of the child and helping them find a safe, permanent home.

Our agency is in search of board members to help us with this noble cause. There are no specific qualifications but a background in law, social work, child development/psychology, medicine, business or similar is preferred. The board meets quarterly to discuss the direction of the organization, plan events, etc. and all members are required to attend these meetings in-person or by phone.

Our board members are also expected to serve on at least one board committee, broaden the organization’s network through personal contacts, make donor thank you calls, and host and attend special events.

If you are interested in serving our organization in this capacity, please contact our Executive Director, Lindsey Price Jackson (203-784-0344 x202), to discuss in detail.
