We currently are recruiting and have a great need for volunteer drivers to help us deliver meals Monday - Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Plano! With drop sites in East and West Plano, we make volunteering with Meals on Wheels easy and accessible. Most routes have about 10 seniors and take approximately an hour to complete.
If you would like to become a Meals on Wheels driver, there are a couple steps to complete:
- Fill out the volunteer application and background check form.
- Attend a drivers training session at our office, located at 600 N Tennessee St in McKinney. We hold these every Wednesday at 2:00pm with no appointment necessary, so feel free to come by anytime you'd like. Please bring your completed forms, $10 for a background check processing fee, your drivers license and your current auto insurance.
- You can register for one of our training sessions, as well as find the necessary forms, at https://www.vomo.org/project/54EKNUnNeqDi6x8rzYTQpr
If you have a group of people interested in becoming volunteer drivers, please contact our Volunteer Recruiter, Mary McAndrew, at mcandrewm@mowcc.com and we can bring the training session to you, eliminating the need to come to our office in McKinney.
