Mission Statement

ImPACT is a volunteer nonprofit advocating for prevention education as a way to reduce the prevalence of domestic minor sex trafficking in communities across Virginia and in our nation.

Description

To bring our mission to reality, we are hosting a first-in-the-nation Summit in Richmond, Virginia, entitled, "Sex Trafficking of Minors in America's Schools: Why Prevention Education is Necessary." Our keynote speaker is Eve N. Birge, US Department of Education. This day-long conference will be held on Saturday, June 11th, 2016, at Viriginia Commonwealth University. Please visit our website for Summit details. www.ImPACTinAmericanSchools.net

We are looking for volunteers to help us launch this Summit. Help us bring awareness to the fact that schools are now being used by traffickers to scout for vulnerable youth into a life of commercial sexual exploitation. According to the US Department of Education, many students go to school everyday while they are in captivity so it is imperative that school officials know the red flags of human trafficking for the well-being and safety of their students. Many students do not even know what sex trafficking is and they are being trapped in this covert form of child abuse without realizing it. That is why IMPACT is promoting teen trafficking prevention education as a way to empower students to fight back and protect themselves from the deceptive tactics that traffickers use. Awareness is Prevention. Awareness is Empowerment. Students need to be aware of predator tactics so they can make safer choices for themselves and their peers. Please help us fight domestic minor sex trafficking! Thank you!
