ORGANIZATION: BABIES OF HOMELESSNESS

Our Board President and Founder, Star Lalario, has a thick binder full of information about resources available to the families we serve, including pamphlets and other printed material from supporting agencies and contacts, useful phone numbers, addresses and more information that needs to be compiled into a resource manual via Publisher or Word. Initial contact will be in the Bothell area. You will work with Star on a schedule that includes times and places convenient for both of you. Having this information at our fingertips is essential if we're going to be truly efficient and successful in helping those who need our support.

Mission Statement

Babies of Homelessness mobilizes the community to deliver essential items to babies, toddlers and young children living in homeless encampments, in their cars/RVs and in shelters. Our goal is to shed light on an issue that is too often hidden from the public's view.

Description

Volunteers with Babies of Homelessness take items that are essential for the well-being of babies, toddlers and young children directly to those children in homeless encampments, shelters or wherever they are found. We get referrals from people in the community who come across homeless families who need support. Sometimes the homeless moms and dads call us directly. We make sure they’ve called 211 to avail themselves of the support that’s provided by local agencies and then find out what they need for their young children. Babies of Homelessness is a charitable organization (501(C)(3)) with a Board of Directors and volunteers who are all passionate about this work.
