360 Communities mission statement is: "360 Communities delivers safety and stability that improves lives." We are looking for a few volunteers who are interested in supporting our Mission Statement as a Court Advocate Volunteer.

Our Court Advocate Volunteers help support women who are survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault when they attend court hearings. These hearings are held Monday through Friday during business hours. We are looking for individuals with initiative, good communication skills, and empathy. A Court Advocate Volunteer must have a flexible daytime schedule, and be willing to attend court hearings in three courthouses: West St. Paul, Apple Valley, and Hastings. An understanding of the civil/criminal justice system is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Attend civil court hearings for Order for Protection, Harassment Order, and criminal court proceedings as needed.
  2. Provide clients with advocacy, support and understanding of the court process.
  3. Safety plan with client before, during and after court.
  4. Maintain confidentiality, boundaries and professional ethics while representing client and agency.

Training will be provided.

NOTE: I am hearing from potential volunteers that they do not receive my email reply. If you choose not to provide your phone number and have not received an email from me with in 24 business hours, please check your spam, junk and/or deleted files to see if my response automatically went there. Or, feel free to call me at 952.985.4017. Thank you.
