Use your communication and community building skills to spread the word about My Little Waiting Room (MLWR) at Providence Portland Hospital. MLWR is a trauma informed drop-in childcare center providing free, licensed, respite care for children up to age 12 while families access services for medical appointments and emergencies. You can help make more people aware of this vital program.
Sample duties:
- Spread the word about our services by giving out brochures to hospital guests (i.e. families with children) and answering questions.
- Initiate and maintain relationships with department heads in the hospital. Inform hospital staff about our services and arrange presentations of MLWR services at staff meetings. Ensure staff have accurate information about our center in order to refer families.
- Supply clinics with brochures and activity packets to give families.
- Promote our services on social media by drafting new posts.
- Perform other duties as requested or desired to meet practicum requirements.
