Here’s an exciting opportunity (as part of the AmeriCorps VISTA anti-poverty program) to work with the Jewish Coalition for Literacy to advance childhood literacy in the Bay Area. Positions are full-time for one year beginning July 31, 2017 through August 6, 2018. AmeriCorps VISTA’s receive a monthly stipend and are eligible to receive either a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or end-of-service cash stipend. They will gain experience in non-profit management and education, and make countless connections with community organizations and education professionals while helping underserved public school children. Description
In just 1 hour a week you can help a student learn to love reading. Join the Jewish Coalition for Literacy (JCL) as a volunteer reading tutor in grades K-3.
