The Aviation Wing is an outdoor, secondary campus of the Marietta Museum of History. We are open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 10am-3pm. We also do special tours for schools, camps, clubs, etc. all days of the week.

We need volunteers to welcome guests as they arrive at the Wing, provide general assistance, and give tours. Most volunteers work one or two 3-5 hour shifts and we are also looking for docents willing to come out and do private tours on the days we are closed. No need to be an aircraft expert. We will give you the tools to educate the public.

This is an outdoor facility but have air conditioned trailers and a golf cart to get around the large park. We also have a small shop on site so volunteers who enjoy mechanics can fix and improve things as needed.

The Aviation Wing, located at 555 Perrin Road, Marietta, GA 30060, is a 15.5 acre park at the corner of Atlanta Road and South Cobb Drive. The park features civilian and military aircrafts from the latter half of the 20 th century in addition to aircraft produced locally in Marietta. Aviation in Marietta begins with Bell Aircraft in the early 1940s and continued to grow with Lockheed Martin from the 1950s-present. Aviation has played an integral role in Marietta’s history and economy and continues to be a prominent industry today.

The Marietta Museum of History provides training for volunteers so no need to be an aircraft expert! You will learn in-depth knowledge and backstories about our aircrafts. You will receive discounts at the main Museum Store (located inside the Marietta Museum of History), tickets to special events if requested, volunteer appreciation events and more. Please help us continue to provide wonderful experiences to our visitors.
