As a part of the summer program, UDC 4-H is holding an overnight summer camp. We are looking for a registered nurse (RN) who can volunteer with us for the entirety of our overnight summer camp. To ensure our campers are safe and healthy, our camp nurse's primary responsibilities are to provide first aid, tending to minor injuries (such as bug bites, scrapes, or sunburns), and aiding in the monitoring and distribution of medication. Major medical concerns will be immediately brought to Urgent Care/the ER/ doctor's office, and are not the responsibility of the camp nurse. Food, first aid supplies, transportation to/from camp, and accommodations will be provided. We are able to offer a $200 stipend for this opportunity.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse
- Prior experience and interest in working with youth at summer camp
We will depart from Columbia Heights Educational Campus on Friday August 4th at 3:00pm, stay at the site until August 6th, and be back at the school that day around 6:00pm. The camp location is Camp Riverview (49000 Cornfield Harbor Rd Scotland, MD 20687). Please send all inquiries to Amanda Tai at amanda.tai@udc.edu.
