Scleroderma Foundation Michigan Chapter is looking for community members with creative ideas, a willingness to be a team member and a desire to learn more about an auotimmune disease that touches the lives of 1 out of 906 Americans. Scleroderma has no known cause or cure.

Scleroderma is a chronic, autoimmune connective tissue disase, in which the body's immune system attacks its own tissues. Inflammation and damage results. Children, men and women are afflicted with scleroderma, with 80% of the scleroderma population being women between the ages of 25 and 55.

The fund raising committee would be tasked with brain storming creative ideas for better enaggement of the comminity and in increasing awareness.

If you are someone who is looking to share your time and talents with a non-profit who needs brain power, creative ideas and new and innovitve appreaches, then we are looking for YOU!

Pizza and salad await you at the meetings along with friendly faces and lots of laughter and fun as we all work to come up plans to help get closer to finding a CURE!

Come join us at the first meeting on June 27 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in our Southfield office and share your ideas as we all work together. We don't meet to just meet, we meet with prupose. We value your time and commitment.

To provide educational & support to people with scleroderma & their families; to stimulate & support research designed to identify the cause & cure of scleroderma as well as improve methods of treatment & to enhance the public's awareness of the disease.

Description

We provide educational programs and services to scleroderma patients in the state of Michigan. We host Stampede Scleroderma every year at the Detroit Zoo and recruit volunteers to assist in the day of efforts of this event the first Sunday of June. We also look for community board members who can help to support our four-fold mission of educaiton, support, research and advocacy.
