Primarily responsible in assisting to run movie-like planetarium shows for groups. There may be some public shows. You will not be asked to do a live show (public speaking for 30+ minutes), however, the position does include being able to talk in front of live audiences for introductions and Q&A afterwards. Will also help assist with the museum's initiative to have the Planetarium offer more planetarium open houses/demo hours.
Will need to be comfortable with computers and working in a dark environment. Training on how to use the system will be provided, but will easily take several weeks.
Need to be flexible with availability or at least have a consistent day that they can be available as group show times are across the board. Most groups, however, tend to be onsite within the first half of the day.
Astronomy background is not required, but it is preferred.
