Make a Difference in the Life of a Child

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: LA WORKS RSVP

A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) makes a difference for children in foster care. CASA volunteers are paired one-on-one with a child to ensure they have the services and support needed in the areas important to all children: stable placement, education, and healthcare. L.A. Works and CASA of Los Angeles are partnering to recruit advocates to be matched with some of the 30,000 children in foster care today. Attend this event to learn details, get questions answered, and hear the experiences of current volunteers and children who have gone through the system.

Mission Statement

Founded in 1991, our mission consists of three principal pillars: - INCREASE volunteer participation in community service projects; - PROVIDE our nonprofit partners with access to volunteer labor and other RESOURCES; and - EDUCATE and encourage people to engage in the broader social issues affecting the greater Los Angeles Community. The RSVP Program at L.A. Works is a federally funded program free to members, with the mission of mobilizing 55 and older volunteers for a large variety of projects with nonprofits all over Los Angeles. Consider us a one-stop-shop for finding different ways to volunteer and help smaller local nonprofits accomplish their missions.
