Volunteer manager for a railway museum

We are a small railway museum which preserves a historic railroad line and equipment. We absolutely depends on our volunteers, who are often young and inexperienced.

We are looking for a frontline manager who will manage the volunteers. Organizing task lists, making sure supplies are on hand, and directing volunteers toward the tasks. Most of the work involves upkeep of several buildings and grounds, keeping a workshop in good order, and some mechanical repairs on historic equipment. It's a lot of making sure tools and supplies are on hand, liasing with our Board for needed resources, etc.

We're small enough for "hands-on" opportunities too. We hope to increase our volunteer recruitment and retention once we have someone on-site to direct them efficiently.

We are looking for someone with a lot of experience managing staff, ideally volunteer staff. We have a lot of great volunteers of all ages, but some of them need a bit of frontline management to stay focused and out of unauthorized projects and "politics". You will answer to our Board of Directors directly.
